Each year we solicit your input to see what you consider the best of the best in our beloved Triboro area. Each year, hundreds of results are logged, calculated and tallied.

The results are in and some things have changed, while others have remained very much the same.

Best auto parts store went to Moosic-based Cee-Kay, repeating the honor earned last year. Minooka Subaru, winner last year for best new car dealer, also duplicated last year’s results, earning that award again.

Looking for the best bar? Readers awarded that title to GI’s in Old Forge, while best bar food went to the Penalty Box in Moosic.

Lyons Barber Shop in Avoca picked up best barber shop honors for the fifth year in a row and Pro Fitness was voted best place to work out.

Wings are a staple food for a lot of folks in the Triboro area. And, according to the votes, the best wings in the area come from Sacchetti’s in Old Forge. The best place to take a first date, according to readers this year, is Cinemark in Moosic.

Looking for the best place to live in the Triboro? Readers gave that honor to Moosic Borough this year, while voting the best park as McDade.

The best romantic restaurant award went to Cusamano’s in Old Forge, while the best place to dine with the kids honor went to McDonalds in Old Forge.

Greg Cron was voted best contractor again this year, while the car wash on Route 502 earned best car wash for the fifth consecutive year.

Best bank honors changed from PNC to Fidelity this year, while CVS took the best drug store honor again. There was a three way tie for best fix it guy/girl with Frank Morgan, Jimmy Fink and Chris Meredick earning your vote as “best” in that category, with Robert Wagner was voted as best electrician. And Eddie Loftus was voted best plumber, while Phil Kernitsky was voted best mason.

Ellen Brazil, at Nana’s Pasta House, earned enough votes for the best waitress honor.

For the second year in a row, best beer menu honors went to Aurants, while Lucca was voted best brunch, best lunch, best new restaurant and best breakfast. According to readers, Terry’s Diner cooks up the best burger, is the best diner and offers the best customer service.

Taylor Deli isn’t just the best deli, it was also the top vote getter in the best cheesesteak category. GNC in Taylor was voted best health store and EJ the DJ was voted best DJ. People in the Triboro like to kickback ... and when they do, it’s at Julia’s, voted best place to hangout. Best funeral home honors went to Kearney and Minooka Bakery has the best desserts. Looking to buy an engagement ring? Kay’s in Moosic was voted the best in that category again in this year’s ballot. The best wedding photographer honors were awarded to Marygrace Mailen.

China Star in Old Forge was voted best Chinese restaurant for the fifth year in a row. Tomlinson’s was voted best flower shop for the second year in a row, while Gronski’s earned the status of best garage.

Turkey Hill in Moosic was voted best gas station and the Triboro must run on Dunkin, as the Moosic Dunkin Donuts was again voted the best cup of coffee.

Muskey Financial was voted best financial services. Gerrity’s picked up the best grocery store crown for the second year in a row, while Divine Mercy Parish in Minooka was voted best picnic in the Triboro.

Have company coming and no room at your home? Readers voted the Courtyard Marriot the best hotel.

Revello’s says “bite the best” and reader’s agreed, voting the Old Forge restaurant best red and best square pizza again this year. Grande was voted best round pizza.

Cafe Rinaldi still has the best risotto and best wine selection, and according to the votes, Arcaro and Genell’s makes the best pasta, has the best Italian food, serves the best white pizza, is the best caterer and is the best restaurant — earning five awards this year!

Best hair salon honors went to Panache, while best ice cream was awarded to Bitty Bills in Moosic.

Michele Avvisato of Joyce Insurance was voted best insurance agent. Sunshine Direct earned another title as the best travel agent.

Best coach honors went to Old Forge high school coach Mike Schuback.

The 570Dojo was awarded best martial arts studio, while Graci Lynn was voted best pet groomer.

DSW in Moosic was voted best shoe store again, and Falcon Oil was voted best oil company, with best nail salon honors awarded to Relay Nail Spa. Delia’s was voted best hoagies again this year. Old Forge High School teacher Dan Holland was voted best high school teacher and the best elementary teacher honor went to Riverside East’s Judy Watkins for the second year.
