Historical Society

The Old Forge Historical Society will meet Thursday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m., in the lower level meeting room at the Old Forge Borough Building. Park and enter from the rear parking lot. Plans will be finalized for our tent display at Sno Forge on Sunday, Dec. 2. Everyone is welcome.

The Lost Christmas Eve’

Dance, song and narration will be featured in this stage adaptation to music from the Trans-Siberian Orchestra Friday through Sunday, Nov. 30 to Dec. 2, at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 2, at 2 p.m. at the Phoenix Performing Arts Centre, 409 Main St. in Duryea. Tickets are $10; $5 for kids 5 and younger. Tickets will be available at the door or call for reservations: 570-457-3589. Following up on last year’s “Ghosts of Christmas Eve,” this is a new story for the whole family.

Collectables Show

Taylor Fire Department Ladder 95 will hold its annual Christmas train, toy, craft and collectables show, on Saturday, Dec. 1, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the fire department back hall, 614 Union St. in Taylor. Admission is $3; children younger than 10 will be admitted free. The show offers more than 150 vendor tables featuring trains from full-size Lionel- to HO-scale trains. Basketball Fundraiser

Old Forge Youth Basketball will host a happy hour fundraiser on Saturday, Dec. 8, 5-7 p.m. at Augustine’s Club 17, 518 N. Main St. in Old Forge. Cost is $20 for this adults-only event. Draft beer, pizza, appetizers and entertainment included. There will also be basket raffles. All are welcome. Contact Joe DiStasi to reserve your spot.

Breakfast with Santa

Greenwood Fire Department, 3727 Birney Ave. in Moosic, will present Breakfast with Santa at the fire station on Saturday, Dec. 8, 9 a.m. to noon. Tickets are $10; $5 for kids 5-10; kids under 5 eat free. Photos with Santa will also be available for an additional charge.

Tickets can be obtained by contacting any fire department member or by calling the fire station 570-961-9454 or message their Facebook page. A limited amount of tickets will be sold.

Christmas Breakfast

Nativity of Our Lord Parish’s men’s society’s fourth annual Christmas breakfast will be held Sunday, Dec. 9, 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Hall, 529 Stephenson St. in Duryea. Menu includes scrambled eggs, potatoes, kielbasa and ham, pancakes and beverages. Take out or eat in. Tickets are $9; kids 5 to 12 are $5. Children 4 and younger eat free.
